Dreams die
Dreams die, shattering the mind
Pieces lay broken in ones memory
No meaning to the pain,
No end
And still we keep dreaming
Foolishly hoping that one will come true.
Only the lucky live their dream.
The rest of us walk with the splinters.
How many dreams will it take to destroy your mind?
Just one, if you believe in it hard enough.
And yet we try to survive in this nightmare.
Not even knowing what happens when we don’t wake up.
Another dream dead, another life shattered.
One more broken heart to put back together.
And another soul that has lost its purpose.
Why do we dream?
Hope lingers in the mind relentlessly,
And every time we fall, we end up standing up.
In death a dream is worth its pain.
But why live with death in your mind?
Pieces fall off, pages turn white.
You try to fall asleep, just to make the day end
And the dreams that follow make you believe
You wish you hadn’t gotten up.
Pain in the mind, pain in the heart.
And endless days leave you stuck with it
But the night brings refuge for in the night you dream new dreams,
Which eventually perish in the day
