hello my happy customers
I am your Hero-for-a-dime
I tell stories by the fireside
and
I'll even make them rhyme
For some simple food and shelter
I shall tell you what I've bled for
and if you ask me really nicely
I'll tell you even more
my stories do include the rough reality
with or without a child-approved happy ending
feel free to interrupt
my tales can take some bending
I'll tell you how I have felt:
daggers and dragons
the unwholesome days of yore
I rode in and came out
stronger than before
bees and trees and
things that are nice
and
I have been to the end of the rainbow
twice
battles and adventures
of this and more I've seen
the very best
the very worst
and all that's in between
but now I sit here so lonely
a sad example of a telling-toy
faded honour leaves but a silent memory
made alive for your exspired joy
This
my dear reader is what I've done
the very definition of decline
the man that tasted the sacred mists of Avalon
reduced to a commercial product-line
...so...
let the bells ring
let the chimes chime
my dear, dear audience
I give you
Hero-for-a-dime
