A life takes another
Brother against brother.
What have we done?
A war has begun.
Tears cry down on open graves
And men have become slaves.
What have we done?
For everyone has a gun.
Lost dreams seep into drains
Children are locked in chains.
What have we done?
Because no-one is left to call son.
Deep is the despair of the mother
Who mourns for her lost child and no other.
What have we done?
As she feels alone, the only one.
Lives in hearts and suitcases
We travel to forgotten places.
What have we done?
For darkness has blocked out our only sun.
Gone is the world when all has faded
And no-one remains to be persuaded
That we've fought a war and no-one has won.
What have we done?
