Souls apart
They say the soul is only half,
Of what it was in ancient days,
They say a storm broke it in two,
And sent the two parts far away
They say this parting leaves us broken,
Until we find our missing half,
I thought this made no sense,
Because I always felt alone,
Complete but alone,
Not a puzzle with a gap.
Then someone showed me,
How wrong I have been,
I’m still alone, but not as I was,
And now I’m only halfway,
where I belong
