How could you leave me,
Leave me behind?
When the winter is upon us
And the dead are pressing on my mind
It's always the same,
You always leave me behind
Its just you and me and our horrid fairytale
When the dead are perssing on my mind
And then the summer comes
And you take me back adn you are kind
And our fairytale becomes merry
And the dead are no longer pressing on my mind
During summer and spring we are one
We are happy and no one is our fiend
But then autumn and its freezing winds return
And the dead come pressing on my mind
I am the godess of spring, light as a feather
When my daughter is with me, and life seems kind.
But then you brute, you take her from me
And the dead are once again pressing on my mind
Oh Hades, won't you leave us alone?
Take back the dead, don't leave me behind
When you kidnap my daughter and take her to your throne
Where the dead are always pressing on everyone's mind
For once, try to be gentle like your brother Zeus,
Follow his example, try being friendly and kind
Maybe my daughter will chose you then
But not with the dead pressing on her mind
She's a child filled with laughter and joy
And to love and to me she wants to bind
But in your shadows and horror you are killing her,
destroying her while the dead are pressing on her mind
Give me back my child, oh Hades, oh please
Let her be with me where there is peace on her mind
Give her back to this world, let her walk in Apollo's sun
Let her see the freedom of this place, so sweet and kind
How can I live without my child? the anwser: I can't
So when you take her, I die, and everything that's kind
Will be lost and the winter will return with its icy breath
And the dead will be pressing on my mind
So if you really love her, let her have her joy
And don't take her from me, don't leave me behind
Or the winter will come and your wife will be sad
And the dead will be pressing on your mind!
