Prison of power
I felt I was lost
In your eyes, in a picture
In a word you once spoke
In a letter with your handwriting
In the heaven you claimed
I knew I was caught
By my own solitude
By my hidden will to say
The things I never told
The things I knew I wasn’t supposed to say
I ran and broke free
From your hands
From the invisible chains
You put around my neck
But still I wonder
I can’t break free
From my solitude
I can’t break free
From the will to speak
From the heaven you claimed
It’s in men’s nature to long for power
And so I long for it too
But I don’t need power to rule others
I just need the power to rule myself
When will it return?
