As outside the wind is battering at window and wall
While candles cast shadow and comfort, the contrast will increase
The assumption that locks on doors, warmth, light and all
Keep safe, will bann the damned, leave me at ease
The shrieking and sighing, the sounds a house at age
I know. It embraces his past a little a lot
Sweet denial, his protection sooths just fine at this stage
For noise and draft, creatures of wind, fright me not
As darkness creeps up and silence now grows, outside
For shrieking and sighing now chill me to the bone
The storm's voice's gone astray, alone left me at night
With mercyless whispers and drafts of preserved past; the unkown
With heart frozen over,last look for what it's worth
And see, breathtaken by the clutching hands of the unheard
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And by suffocating strenght,handled by those who once were
My heart comes to closure, my breath's taken with might
Vision stumbles, fails and faints to a disturbing blurr
As I hear them chant, those creatures of the night
Mistakes are what make us as failure insight shares
Misfortune built character...don't you turn and run away now, chose
Because for cowards, smiling so-called-saints, we and no one cares
Blackness overcomes and from afar they joyfull crie: you lose!
I slip,slide, grasp and claw bewildered going down -astoundingly fast-
For what it's worth, hell, for all I'm worth, I scream
in utter terror -down was done- open my eyes, I must
see. Battering wind, dying candles... and hush away the dream
Up I go and smile relieved to my reflection; me.
Mirrors don't lie, so I ignore, the blue marks I didn't see.
