The Illusionist
Some might call you a player
They might compare you with a wizard
Others might say you're like a snake
Smooth moves, but the sharp tongue of a lizard
To me, you're an illusionist
Giving away your shows for free
I would like to believe I'm special
When you play your favourite tricks on me
While I'm looking at you, enjoying your magic
I can't ignore the thought, speaking out loud
The more tricks that an illusionist's got
The more women will join his crowd
So when we lay down in your bed
Caressing each other, skin to skin
I know that your heart didn't get me here
It's your magic that took me in
It's a shame I will never get to know you
The real person you keep well hidden within
Instead you seduce me with the illusion
That I'm the one, who'll get under your skin
It's the rush that you get from my standing ovation
I know you believe it will set you free
But can't you see that it's a fake substitution
For the real love you could get from me
My intuition's never fooled me
The truth must be somewhere in your eyes
But as soon as you notice me breaking through
Your tricks are back, as your disguise
I can only wait for the day you'll wake up
Because deep inside you must have known
When an illusionist keeps performing his magic
He will end up all alone
