As I look in the mirror I see a man
Fierce look on his face, pen in his hand
He makes me think of hopes and dreams
Fantasies of kings and queens
But all is not quite the way it seems
For this man has lost his brightness
After the slightest elevation
Of a massive complication
He now sits and sighs
As he tries to cry
But the tears are dry, he wonders why
As he’s made to confess that he must try to fuss a tiny bit less
He does his best and the lust turns to dust in his chest
He’s left utterly clueless
‘bout what to do next
As he skims the surface
Of all that is perfect
He find’s he’s rich after all
As a high school dropout going to college
He soon will discover his power of knowledge
Never opened a door, just kicked down the wall
This tough little nut is on a mission
But every different day he’ll still be wishin’
For that one thing he gambled away
