I’ve not asked for this
This darkness
The questions and the doubts
They’ve gone back to coming out
Neglecting what they should do;
Keeping alive the truth
Night is falling again
The sun has set
Summer warmth still dwells
Keeping me under her spell
The feelings drift away
Yet awaiting me here the next day
Under the covers of sleep
Only joined by my dreams
But I miss you there,
Miss you everywhere
My dreams moved away from you
My body beaten by this truth
I long for you next to me
But there crept this, this lie
Taking your place
Taking up all the space
Makes me huddle in a corner
Praying it’ll get darker
And I won’t have to see
That what terrifies me.
