The battle before Christmas
Where are the snowflakes the cracking ice,
the morning fresh nose cold wind surprise?
The trees still holding their last summer leaves,
to warm to loose them to cold to look green.
Christmas song lyrics chant in the hall,
of an air conditioned crowdie shopping mall.
The trees of joy rice at the city square,
within this celebration Santa pops up everywhere.
And as I wonder among the magic scenes,
the electric bells and reindeers make noise to be seen.
Salesmen running to find you swift, exclusive,
expensive but only for a special Christmas-bonus-
collectors-item-forgive me for being an asshole gift.
One little among the high glitter giants,
shy and covert with angel hair wires.
Reminds of one Christmas special for me,
my first glance at a shining ball, glitter-glanced-
humble-but-full-of love decorated Christmas tree.
And with this feeling I walk along…….
the long exhausting battle to show with a present,
how much this Christmas I love you all.
One day one time it will come back. . .that Christmas feeling,
I once lost and now can not forget.
