(In saecula saeculorum)
You were quietly seated in the early light
And I drank every line of your face, so bright,
As if it were the precious water of a wadi,
As if it were the nectar of sushumna nadi.
And each and every curl in your hair, I ate,
Was like the shining clearness of a crystal plate,
Was like the hidden silence of a roaring sound,
Was like the Holy Grail that suddenly was found.
And when you turned your face then towards me,
I realized how I endlessly was knowing thee,
How all the colored threads of the forgotten past
Were interwoven to a pattern of love at last,
And how I’ve carried you so boundless deep in me,
Throughout the days and years and in eternity...
