Yesterdays longings
Trickle on down to tinsel town
with, on my forehead, a frown
in my mind a thousand thoughts
of all the things I once so sought
things, I once possessed and lost
at what expenses, at what a cost.
Maybe it’s like the people all say:
‘Yesterdays longings always stay’
in a singular form, maybe in another
some ‘ll make you rejoice, some bother
some might even appear…, despite
but they ‘ll never leave your side.
So if you find yourself reminiscing
just keep remembering the glistering
of the feelings that once went along
and before you say: closure is done
try wearing your memories as a crown
once you trickle on down tinsel town.
