The Day After

Everyone was in shock
Everyone thought it was terrible
Everyone was looking for the guilty one's name
Everyone was angry
Everyone was looking for someone to blame

But what happened the day after
Or maybe a week, or maybe a year
Everyone had forgotten
The terror and the fear

People see it every day
And to them it's all the same
They don't care anymore
About who's to blame

And the victims of the crime
Are broken, sad and left behind
Everyone has forgotten
The terror and the fear
Except the people
Who lost the dear
