The sun, it shines, don’t ask it why
To some it brings live where others just die
To some it is evil, some see it as good
But the sun just shines, just as it should
I should count my blessings, the many thereof
The trust I am bringing, the unconditional love
Those out there who see me, as brother and strength
Always supportive, at life longest length
The sun, it shines, trough day and trough night
It sheds all that needs it with baleful bright light
It cares not for what should stay hidden and gone
The sun just continues, it merely shines on
I should count my blessings, much more then a few
No matter where I go, I will meet the new
And though unknown, the same it goes still
Lifter of those fallen, by mere strength of will
The sun, it shines, how barren and hot
It brings forth his light but it seems to care not
How can it, the sun, who will comfort him
The sun, it shines, it can’t change at a whim
I should count my blessings, but with true disdain
I carry my blessings, there’s nothing to gain
The trust and the strength, the support that I give
The world on my shoulders, but what life to live
The sun it just shines, it is what it does
It never will change, it is what it was
So too my burdens, nothing can be done
My blessing’s my curse, for I am the sun
