Afraid in the dark
It is cold outside and really dark ,
I'm lying in my bed .
Thinking about some things ,
feeling really sad .
When the sun is there and I'm in school ,
I don't feel like that .
With all my friends I can talk with,
I don't feel so bad .
But when it's dark , they aren't there ,
then I'm all alone .
Then I'm just too scared to move ,
so I stay where I am .
Every time I want to move I see faces ,
making it impossible for me to move .
then I can't stop shivering ,
and I hope I will fall asleep .
It's just so odd , I have a very happy life ,
I don't have to be scared .
I have no real enemies nor was I ever traumatised ,
so I wonder why I'm afraid?
Unless I'm afraid of facing myself ,
in the dark ...
