*My girlfriend*
I wish I could say you are my girl,
But you see, I can’t.
You’re not my girl,
And I guess you’re never gonna be.
People around us,
Who knows uw both,
Ask me if you’re my girl,
And I would say with regret
And with sad eyes that you’re not.
Then they would say,
Damn, I would have swore
You two were together.
But you see, we ain’t.
But in my dreams,
This is all different.
When the people ask us,
If you are my girl.
You answer them with pride,
Yes I am.
And I just smile with a tear in my eye.
I wish I could say you are my girl,
But now I’m answering people
With regret and sad eyes,
That you’re not.
