Numbers
We don’t have names
We are just numbers
The times when everybody knew each other
By name or by problem is gone
We are not ourselves anymore
We are our social security number
Our telephone number and address
Our invoice number or customer number
Sometimes we have a more close approach
But even then it is viewed in a negative way
We can be negro, gypsy, female or gay
Maybe Catholic, Buddhist or Islamite
You are treated or discriminated
According to the series of numbers you belong to
Once a number is “printed” on your forehead
It hardly can be removed
Do you know your series of numbers
Or do you deny that you take part in it too?
Do you treat the people around you
The way they treat you?
