A cry in the night
A still and quiet summer night
I walk on the grass, feeling all right
But somebody else is struggling to win a fight
She's crying out underneath the starlight
She's crying out to me
Because I'm the only one who can see
That like everybody she wants to be free
She wants to be free and happy
The darkness of the night
Complicates her fight
She's fighting to feel all right
She's fighting with all her might
This is not what she wants to be
A fighter, longing to be happy
Thinks I can help her to be free
So she's crying out to me
