Gratitude
A silhouette underneath the bed sheet,
A curve flowing underneath,
A gentle lifting of the body,
A gentle sigh full of relief.
Next to me my love is sleeping,
And I’m watching her real close.
Her face I can see but dimly,
But I can feel her love for me,
A pulsing never ending fever,
Pulling me down onto my knees.
And as her silhouette starts fading,
Fatigue sinks its teeth in me.
My eyes close slowly, dreams will follow.
My love resting here beside me,
Loving me even as she sleeps.
