the Will 0’ Wisp
On a cold and moonless night
The night that lasts so long
There does appear a little light
Just under the horizon
A traveler, alone and cold
sees it move closer through the night
it swirls forward, ducks and fold’
then moves back into his sight
he hears a voice, a song it sings
a song of the sweetest sound
which message is it that it brings
dancing high above the ground
he moves to this amazing sight
afraid that it may fade
the will o’ wisps are all in flight
on the bridge that was never made
he follows the secretive voices
of the shining will o’wisps
no freedom to make his choices
he walks into the mists
the will o’ wisp above the grass
leads him as a guiding light
deeper into the singing morass
as the Jack o’ lanterns hide
the song is suddenly ending
just one will o’wisp does stay
the traveler’s still standing
then tries to walk away
the will o’ wisp is swirling
this lost soul that has come
to lure the travelers, circling
to a slow and lonely doom
this lonely, lost traveler
which nobody would miss
received, far in the foggy swamps
the will o’ wisps fair kiss
the will o’ wisps keep singing
the travelers soul sings along
above the swamps, still spinning
their sweet and luring song
the traveler you might once hear
singing among the will o’ wisps
he whispers softly in your ear
you’ll be longing for his kiss
