A little more awakeness
You seem to lay in perfect sleep
Just an illusion - it's not so deep
The peace of night forever shattered
And realm of safety in eternity battered
Shaking hands, and paler skin
When did this all begin?
As a child, in silent slumber
Only thinking about the number
The sleeping child, that woke up one night
And just gave in without a fight
In silent night a fading scream
No way back into the dream
Still lying awake with voices in my head
Thoughts spinning around as I lay in my bed
And you keep asking, and never see
Tonight I gave you all of me
But still, it is just like before
You want me awake, just a little more
