Praying
Fallen down on one knee
Tears are flowing free
I look up and the streetlight is all I see
And strangely something broke inside of me
I folded my hands, looked up and started to believe:
Dear God,
Please listen, right now you’re all that I’ve got
You’re are the hope, the light and all that I’m not
Please listen, give me one more shot
I don’t wish to be left out in the rain
I don’t wish to be left alone with the pain
I don’t wish to end up all alone in the gutter
So God, please forgive that I s-t-t-utter
Because I’m scared…
For everything that’s outhere
No place is safe, no one who let’s me be
Everyday it get’s harder to breathe
So I beg you, can you help me?
After that, I stood up and walked away
Because something woke up inside of me
God is just a thought, someone who the helpless hold onto
But remember this, he doesn’t stand in your shoes,
You are the only on who can make your own dreams come true
(even me statement: ben niet tegen geloof, maar tegen het uitwassen van het geloof ;))
