When going home yesterday
I felt a change in the air
a vague hint carried
on the breath of the wind
Sweet sudden rays of the sun
slowly but oh so surely
warming, feeding, nurturing, healing
the earth and its new life
and breaking, finally breaking
winter's sturdy back
