One Night

One night
a teardrop fell down
on dessert grounds

One night
some time after that
a rose appeared
and it attracted
some insects
who fed on the rose
who died of the poison the rose held
the poison of a tear
the poison of sadness

One night
a gardener appeared
who found the rose dying
who gave the rose water
and who died next to the rose
because of a shortage of water for himself
some insects again
became attracted to the rose
and the smell of dead body
they had a feast
yet died all again

One night
one insect survived
and flew away
he got eaten by a frog
miles away from home
that frog ran into the highway
got hit by a car
and the lady of that car
took it
and kissed this dying creature
she cried without tears
took the frog home

One night
she gave the frog to her child
who ate the little frog
who one night
his last night
would get abandoned by his love
and cry in a dessert
and cry out a new rose
but before that
he became a gardener
