I’m sorry for the pain that I caused
for the tears I saw in your eyes
I know I was responsible
even though I never told you lies
I’m sorry I went away
never meant to make you cry
I had to go alone
and couldn’t tell you why
I’m sorry I couldn’t make you smile
that I couldn’t become the man you want me to be
I’m sorry it didn’t work between us
that there’s no more you and me
but I’m not sorry for the times we shared
cause now they’re stuck in my head
these moments were special
and they won’t let me forget
still, as time goes by
I think of you each day
eventually this pain will fade
but the memories will stay
