A golden sunrise turned the skies
From purple to gold to the deepest blue,
With the sun throwing her lights into my eyes,
Each morning touching my soul anew.
And I raise my head and let out a mighty roar
As if to greet the sun like never before.
Early morning air fills all the corners of my lair
Like water in a river filling all the spaces within her,
As she flows to where she can escape my glare
And deliver all that sail upon that sheet of silver.
And I raise my head and let out a mighty roar
As if to greet the sun like never before.
I stretch my wings as the church bell rings
Like gigantic wires stretched by ancient desires,
Powerful as magic rings ruled by the ancient Kings
Who send knights with esquires into my deadly fires.
And I raise my head and let out a mighty roar
As if to greet the sun like never before.
When the day is old I lay down on the gold
That forms my bed and in my warmth tursn red
And becomes hot enough to mould, and I fold.
And curl up; smoke forms a net as I ease my mighty head.
And in my dreams I breathe fire and I roar
As if to greet the night like never before.
