They say everything happens for a reason
but this is hard for me to understand
why then am I still longing
for you to hold my hand?
They say everything has a meaning
but it is hard for me to see
when tears are clouding my vision
as I'm thinking of you and me
They say just to look at the future
but I'm often living the past
the times we were together
I already knew it wouldn't last
But no one ever told me
about the joy that you still bring
I feel so happy and grateful
when I'm recalling everything
