And as beautiful and great as it was
I got lost, I got lost
The ocean full of promises
Soon became a desert
And as it all came falling down

I promised myself lies
And I kept my promise, all right
It’s all lies
Secrets are not made to be kept
And neither are promises
Cuz’ in this world of promises made
Promises break, promises break
I promised myself lies
But for me the lies became the truth
Lies for me became like food
I needed them for hope
I needed them to cope
With life
I needed promises, I needed those lies
