I deserve to smile
When I'm depressed
sinking back
into the dark
With my mind
only thinking
of the past
I only need
a little sign
of joy
a little smile
a friendly hand
someone who cares
Then I see
a little light
oh so little,
but so bright
And I smile
because I know
Things will be
alright
maybe not now
and not tomorrow
but somewhere
there
in the future
Because I deserve
to smile
