Why do you hide behind your pride
Why won't you look into my bright blue eyes
Why do you see but dark clouds in the skies
Why won't you show your brighter side

I'm looking in a mirror
But no one is reflecting back
I'm ringing my own doorbell
But nobody seems home
I'm looking at my pictures
But a stranger has caught my eye

I was perfectly content
Until you came into my life
Until you pretended to be some kind of friend

Your influence I cannot resist
Your spirit won't release me
Memories from another life will just not cease
Why don't you let me rest in peace
Why won't you let me be
Your presence will not desist

Why do you hide behind your pride
