I used to be impulsive
Went through every open door
But impulsive acts are done
On a slippery, wet floor
That one day I looked back
Saw a shadow drawing near
And as it came closer
Got overcome by fear
So I pushed my legs to run
But the water made me slip
Then I tried to spread my wings
But they suddenly got clipped
So I got down on my knees
And I looked up and I begged
For this power that’s called Fate
To be merciful instead
It looked at me and laughed
“Is that the best that you can do?
Running away and begging
Is that all there is to you?
Why don’t you for once
Turn around and face your fears
It might not even be
Worth all those tears”
I learned that day that ”fate”
Is nothing but a word
‘Cause when that shadow covered me
Nothing bad occurred
Your every step defines
Whichever way you’ll go
And in that way you’ll reap
Whatever you will sow
