I open up my eyes
To find a new day has begun

The light hurts my eyes
The warmth hurts my skin
I try to finds the words
For this state that I’m in

Last night wasn’t peaceful
It hasn’t brought me rest
I lay awake in darkness
A weight upon my chest

I think about my future
And then about my past
And wonder for how long
This confusion will last

I sit down to the sounds
Of the world rushing by
Take a moment to myself
As I look up to the sky

My heart is overflowing
With the longing that I feel
For a glimpse of what is coming
For this moment to be real

This I will remember
But memories will fade
I wonder if I’ll take the risk
Or keep being afraid

I don’t know where my path is
Nor the point to which it goes
But fuck it, I’ll just have to see
