When your heart doesn't know
When you're lost and confused
they say listen to your heart
It will show you the way
instead of tearing you apart
But when your heart is doubting
and it's torn between two
with no way of deciding,
tell me, then what do you do?
Not torn between two people, which
would be all too quickly solved
But torn between emotions of
letting go or staying involved
My dreams, they show me - endlessly -
improbable things to mind
That in his dreams - ironically -
it's not her, but me, he'll find
One part of me is willing to
walk away and just move on
The other part just can't forget
what it feels like when he's gone
One step forward, then one back
I might as well stand still
Waiting around for what could be
but probably never will
I wish that it was clear to see
which way that I should go
'cause holding on is breaking me
but it kills me to let go
So yeah, it's easy to listen
when it tells you where to go
But tell me, what do you do
when your heart doesn't know?
