Two Doors
In one day he stole her dreams
took a whole bag full, so it seems
though what he gave her so divine
she reminds him, forever will be mine
in her small castle
at the top of her turret
Tudors is the name of her place
she wanders around in the space
looking east, south and west
it leaving her no rest
water surrounds the island
from this height world is silent
so she takes a long look north
and a cry of anguish bursts forth
down her cheeks streams an even show
why a day in the life of…delivered such a blow
she seeks to find out, she wants to know
sea water rises as it does in the flow
it reaches her castle way down below
the two doors open swept away by the sea
it was time for her to get a grip and flee
castle in the sand disintegrated complete
she runs to the café in her bare feet
a double Southern Comfort warms her heart
as she watches from a distance her turret depart
the ocean, a living deadly place
calling to her soul to find some grace
calling, calling, come to me in the deep
where I'll build you a castle and you won't have to weep
another comfort from the south
makes her laugh, splutter from her mouth
today my beloved, destructive sea
you can have my castle but you can't have me
I'll search for love, for a while wait and see
until then wash away my sand-castle debris
I'll wait in the silence of another house's room
watch the magical bud of a rose forever bloom
