Once upon a day, they mesmerized me.
I enjoyed watching them fall down from the sky,
washing my heart like a meteor-shower.
Those beautiful creatures of sand...
But they fell towards the seas to never surface again
and from that moment on I longed to be their saviour...
As I derived
from water and seas
I had nowhere to go
but to stand still
and freeze.
Queer rationality made way for dumb ignorance
as I trembled the other worlds in fluttering.
I was the one who treaded on heaven’s pride.
The gatekeeper of clouds sighed stormy tornado’s,
when he turned the key I had passed the other side.
The calling I heard
was it meant for me?
Or the sand-creatures I left behind
in the shady oceans
to feel free.
Finally I had enough space to spread my new-born wings.
I longed since first sight to grow into a white angel.
My broad smile flashed insurmountable from west to east.
My luck charmed all the shining stars into blinding suns.
Yet, I wasn’t aware I had unleashed the devil’s beast.
I fetched wisdom
in dreams to choose.
Maintaining my confidence
like walking on air
feeling footloose.
The skyline was simply too bright to awe the colours it created.
When I focused strong to zoom in I saw horror instantly rectify.
In a finger-snap it scorched the suns empty, blackening the skies.
It used its lightening torch to drain all light dark, night-time.
I was face to face with my adversary, knowing pure evil had arise.
- the only universe’s light was its heart-fire -
