The waive of a wave
Fishing on the still waters
while there was a little sun
in the distance a rainbow
where the rains had begun
under a decrepit bridge
a mantel I thought safe
heard a rushing noise
didn’t see the oncoming wave
by the time I did it was too late
deceitful wave sent me to my grave
foundered in the waters’ cheat
dragged me down, so very depraved
a painful struggle ensued
swim so good, another face was able to save
I fought like a fish with the current
gave it a sign I could easily waive
now the wave and the save have gone
and I am secure and relieved
clutching for a while to heaven-sent buoy
