I knit time
I knit time with fingers
woven in my matted hair
I battle with the fabric
of love intwined with hate
violence even, sometimes
I sustain tremendous injuries
wounded by words, speech
But I heal, I treat wounds
with poetry, the sentences
filling the gaps in the flesh
The mind it heals itself
for don’t they say that time
heals everything or maybe
everything heals time
so I can knit it with fingers
