Bearing down and pouring
and I just bow my head
take it in a stoic silence
superfluous stars have taken up
residence in my resilient mind
swaying, swaying like a little girl
with floating skirts in summertime.
For to silence I am doomed
like Lavinia, avarice and
unbridled passion my foes
but merciful, merciful, music is my
company, poetry my faith in humanity
it is not yet lost though swaying, swaying
slow-dancing blindly, groping our way through
Nemesis is my name, my name
and though I may not speak it
my powers are still there
ravenous in my rage, never satisfied I shall
rise below your oceans, turn them, churn them
until they become butter you can no longer stir
maelstroms I will be, voracious as ever, even more
so now, I will swallow you, imbibe your blood
make your seas turn red
But first I will flood your mind, you, your world
with a sense of guilt so paralyzing,
you will lose your tongue.
