Can't stand walking away
the world just keeps on spinning
and new lives are being born
the birds outside still singing
but their songs make me mourn
The world just ain't that pretty
without you, it's hard to breathe
At night I miss you next to me
underneath the sheets
I miss that scar that makes you, you
I miss goofing around, annoying one another
the smell of your hair, oh my, I do
The vision of you as the sweetest mother
I'm taking memories with me wherever I go
your presence feels near but far away
I've learned many lessons that helped me grow
trust me, I do my best every single day
But I'll never be mr perfect for anybody
What I do is strive to get as close as I can
And If that means stepping out of your life
I'll take that step like the man I am
though it still feels like unfinished business
Will the 'what if' hit you on some day
Will I be just around the corner
or will I be gone, gone far away
Are you striving to forget me
Am I helping you along the way
And will I eventually
Forget you on some day
I'm pretty sure that's not the case
All I know is what I know today

| Mijn schoonzus zei ooit tegen mij: loslaten hoeft niet definitief of onomkeerbaar te zijn. Het is elkaar de nodige ruimte geven. En als jullie bij elkaar horen, vinden jullie ooit de weg terug naar elkaar. Ik geloof er wel in... what is meant to be will be. |
