Into the breach
The captain shouts at his men
Victory within arm’s reach
As if we’re to butcher chickens in their pen
In the cacophony were sound and visions mix
My dreams for years to come get their fuel
The devil has many many tricks
But none are more wicked nor more cruel
To fool young idealistic men to war
To make them think that they fight for peace
The true truth lies far
Farthest away from his truth a paradox masterpiece
When they realize they’re no longer young
They bought into the devils foolery
The war by them will be unsung
For it has taken all their grandest jewelry
Their innocence, a dream or two
Sometimes their kindness
And often their mind too
Eyes that shone now show blindness
Folly is war and all that it spawns
War is unknown to those who propose
A king will unwavering sacrifice his pawns
For he only knows the heroic theoretical prose
In which the attributes golden
Are all that come to light
Only the good gets embolden
And only the best get to live through the fight
The weapons may change from time to time
But its motives are always the same
Actions which in peace are a crime
In wartime will heroically engrave your name
But nothing good comes from violence
Nor will it ever
And in the final answer, there’s silence
To war, I will go again never
