Just this day
As I walked my thoughts drearily
Am I lost astray
The answer was eerie

Never was my path
More clear than now
And the anger and wrath
It Will help me somehow

These forces of evil
Corruption and greed
Aspire a constant state of upheaval
Divide and conquer is their creed

So many are lost
As I am today
The steep price this cost
Is simply too high to pay

Living life is more
Then delaying inevitable death
It has been done before
By those fearless till their last breath

It’s making your longevity count
Not a monument made from marble or stone
But by the defeats you surmount
By the mending of hearts and not the breaking of the bone

By the lives, you lightened some or much
By deeds that made a little better
By comforting words or a soothing touch
By the loving words in a letter

By actions for or with
Your fellow man
Actions that show the good is still lit
So you’ll leave the world better than when you began

That is the highest good we can aspire
Especially now during these evil crimes
Let there always be a fire
Within that can light these powerful times

Remember you are not alone
Remember you are a miracle of grace
Remember you are the capstone
Remember you are the author of the light or darkness in your face

Light up the dark
Set ablaze the looming black
Be it your landmark
So that you’ll never look back

Be it when your time has passed
Under this rich velvet sky
The riches you’ve amassed
Will be seen by eyes that cry

For it is better to give
Then to receive
And in this only life, we live
Only love will sadness bereave
