When I Say No
When I say no, my love, I’m not unkind,
I’m simply choosing peace of mind.
Each boundary drawn, each silence kept,
is where my truest self has slept.
My no is not cold, nor void of grace,
it’s love returning to its place.
It is the breath my heart must take,
to stay in peace, to not forsake.
No is the soil where yes can grow,
a sacred truth the wise hearts know.
For every no I softly speak,
is love reclaimed — not proud, nor weak.
I do not turn away from you,
I turn toward what’s pure and true.
And in that turn, I find my home,
no longer lost, no longer alone.
