We all live behind a facade
And we all wear masks
It’s to protect our inner man
And it’s to protect ourselfs of getting hurt.
One mask to pretend happiness
One mask to pretend gratitude
One mask to pretend strenght…
I’m afraid you’re lost in it, my dear
You’re just another person
who lost her guide of all those masks
I wish I do have a clear statement
To say masks are good
or either bad
But I don’t
I’m just able to tell you
that we all have masks
And we all use them for protection
or to reach a goal
I’m not a wise girl
So I don’t have the power to write poems
that can cheer you up
and that are able to show you a way
I’m not a wise girl
I’m just a girl like you
A girl like us
Who has seen the joy in life
But who has also met the pain that life can bring
And who is sometimes happy
And sometimes sad
or hurt
Like you do from time to time
So I don’t know what to say
Cause I know that
for me
Life is full of joy, and full of pain
And I’m wise enough to understand that
how much you can be hurt
you just have to live on
For there will be days
Pain doesn’t exist
For there will be days
You’ll understand it’s just Life you’re living
