It was such a long time ago since the last time...
The sky was blue and stained with rain
My coat felt like a second skin
I wouldn’t dare to take it off
The sight of pictures satisfied me for the moment
The parachute was going to be my best friend
So I talked to it, and all it could do was listen to me
I had to wait for the wind to lie down
It made me pinch my eyes till I closed them.
Even then I knew a skydiver knows no fear
and gets acquainted with adrenaline
But I was talking to my parachute
and hoping the wind would grow into a tornado
But it didn’t, it suddenly evaporated for no reason
just like rain normally does when heated up
But that day also the rain just stopped naturally
I knew then we were about to dive into the skies
Behind me a lion began roaring, fuelled with hunger
An impressive salvo of thunder from one tiny aeroplane.
My heart bounced in my chest so fast
soon I couldn’t even hear the propellers spinning.
I was about to take off with that machine
and not going to land with it at all.
We got in and did the seven-pin-check every diver does.
And I could only stare into the blur that was in front of me.
My flight-instructor showed a ridiculous smile,
and a ridiculous thought told me he was going evil
During all this we still gained altitude by the second
in order to fall down way faster, like a brick towards earth
Twelve thousand feet, four kilometres high...
Seconds away from flying down
I fell in love with the girl in the plane next to me
I laughed at her
She laughed at me
before she pushed me into the skies
Finally airborne...
