I listen to the radio
A song captures my ear
And in that tiny moment
There’s nothing else I hear
I turn the volume up a bit
And listen to the beat
Before I even realize it
I start to move my feet
I dance and I feel wonderful
It makes me feel alive
But those songs never last long
Four minutes, maybe five
I can’t dance to the next song
The one that breaks my heart
I sit and listen quietly
To lyrics forming art
And as the music captures me
I start to drift away
And dream of where I want to go
Places I’ll see someday
