Driving The Car
I knew a journey was about to start
When I laid my eyes on you for the very first time
Though at that moment you were a stranger to me
It was my heart that gave me the sign
That meeting you was supposed to be
It was set up by the people above
They knew that we both needed
To experience the essence of true love
We've both known sadness, we've both been hurt
Left alone by people that we thought we could trust
Searching for ways to escape from the pain
Ignoring love and accepting lust
Deeply frightened to ever meet someone
Who would accept us for who whe are
Someone who'd bring brightness into our lives
And would carefully try to heal every scar
When holding you close, our souls come together
I sense the pain that you keep locked inside
Within these walls that you've built for protection
Your believe in true love slowly surrendered and died
For many years you've tried to be someone else
Ignoring your emotions, pretending no-one really cared
That every night you went to bed, crying
Facing your fears, feeling angry and scared
But now you've got someone, who'll listen to you
Who'll try to find the door of every thick concrete wall
Who'll stay by your side, where everyone started running
Who'll put down a matras, in case you might fall
I'll dry all the tears, don't be afraid to show them
These are the ones that you've never cried before
Where some people may have let you down
I will try to love you even more
You and me, now we've found each other
Together whe know that whe are strong
Holding hands while driving the car
Sharing our fear of what may come along
We'll only look back if it's necessary
To understand the pain that we feel within
It's the road ahead that will give us strength
Because that's where our true love will begin
